The Joy of Friends
Tonight I rushed home from work because we were having two of our good friends over, Ray and Don. Don’s only in town for a week so I wanted to make him chocolates of his choice. He wanted coconut and almonds, so I made the almond joys again.
Doing a demo in front of friends was alot of fun – this time Andy tempered the chocolate by himself for the first time and did an amazing job and it came out perfect. Unfortunately I am not sure about the coconut part that I was in charge of. I think it came out a little too stiff, since I added a litle more coconut this time compared to last time when I thought it came out a little too gooey (see older post). But if nothing else the visit was a blast!
Thats it for now.

Don is my new bestfriend! Please let him know that he is has a stranger bestfriend somewhere in the world. Almond, dark chocolate and coconut are my absolute very favorite chocolate combination. Your blog is making me fast want to become a confectioner. I have not made many chocolates, but I am thinking it may be my next Blog Bucket list addition!

It was great watching you do your chocolate magic, especially since you were making “almond joys” at my request. I was facinated with the whole process and I must say, I was impressed with your knowledge. Andy also is learning so much about chocolate and was the perfect helper. As always, Andy’s photograpy is suberb. I also have to acknowledge Ray’s contribution in the delicate placing of the nuts (almonds).
The almond joys not only looked perfect they were delicious. The coconut filling could have been a bit softer but it did not take away from the taste. The dark chocolate was perfect.
Thanks so much for sharing this treat with us.
